Meet Paula (in pink) a wonderful friend
to Kym.
Paula's family of 4 live in a house just about
the same size as our cabin at the lodge.
While visiting her one day, I noticed that
she had a lady ironing ALL of her laundry.
I questioned why iron the underwear.
All their laundry is hand washed and hung to dry.
The tumbu fly loves laying eggs on warm damp clothes.
If left untreated, by heat, the egg will burrow
into the flesh.
So, I need to reconsider the "hassle" of hanging
and folding clothes,from the dryer.
In fact, there is little, if anything,
that is a hassle, compared to how others live.

Funny Faces!
"Smile for the camera"
"Show us your milk-stash"
This is also the expression he had
When he said, "I'm going to be a big brother."
"Show us your cute face"
His, "I don't want to" face.
I love these sweet boys!

African Delights
I hurry around and get so much,
and as I travel, I'm reminded of
the special delights of those living in Africa.
Kym & friends went on a girls week-endand as I travel, I'm reminded of
the special delights of those living in Africa.
and they bragged that this was the best shower
in Africa.
Among other goodies, the boys were excited
to have their favorite cereals.
The whole team sorted goodies from
a sponsoring church.
Taking a ride down the Nile river,
in a boat like this.

Morgandy's Doll
I have been looking for that special red-headed doll,
and I found one that resembles our precious doll.
I'm ready to see Morgandy give her
motherly touch to this new doll.

Thank you Myra & your Austin Friends
Two years ago, this little girl was found in a garden covered with ants.
As Vinnie worked in her garden, she though she heard a kitten,
but found & adopted her daughter, Gift.
We just saw Vinnie and her family last week, when in Uganda,
visiting our nephew. Vinnie expressed her gratitude for the clothes
given to Gift. I explained that my daughter and her Austin
friends are the reason for this blessing.
I just wanted to pass on the depth of graditude,
from this loving family.
Gift clapping to a song I made up...As Vinnie worked in her garden, she though she heard a kitten,

What about Africa?
Ben ask me what I thought about my visit to Africa this time .
It is way to much to formulate into words, even now.
But there is something I have to say.
Ben & Kym are amazing, kind, compassionate, people.
They probably have to turn down alot of needs,
but they do SO MUCH for so many.
That was my favorite part of Africa...watching them serve,
and learning from them.
Ben is always ready to leave the people with a smile,
if nothing else...he gives great hugs, too!
Kym make sure medical needs are met,
kids have a chance to go to school,
empties her fridge for workers,
gives away clothes....helps friends
and is a great wife, mother and friend!
They are surrounded by suffering, but are
doing their best.
so, What about Africa?
It is blessed by Ben & Kym!
