Down The Road

Back in the hot Austin summer

Christmas 2008

This entry is about being blessed with
2 amazing son-in laws, Patrick & Nathan.
The lyrics to this song reminded me of
how fast life passes us by...
and how God answered our prayers for our girls.

Down the Road

When I was a boy

Four houses down from me
Was a family with an only child
She was the only girl
In this whole world that could make me smile.

Down the road
I made reasons to go
Down the road

Somewhere inside of me
There was something that she took a liking to
Well, I ask her to marry me
She said she really wanted to

Down the road
To see what life's gonna hold
Down the road

Her momma wants to know
Am I washed in the blood or just the water
Her daddy wants to know
If I made enough to take his daughter

Down the road
Before he can let her go
Down the road

Now down the road
Is an engineer with an only son
And our baby girl
She believes he is the only one

Down the road

Her momma wants to know
Is he washed in the blood or only the water
And I want to know
That he makes enough to take my daughter

Down the road
When comes time to go
Down the road

Down the road
You know I want to help her go
Down the road

Down, down, down that road

Reflecting!

This week I read, Longing for a Homeland by Lynn Anderson. It was a book that I couldn't put down. Toward the end, he mentioned scriptures that I knew, but hadn't invested in. I found myself wishing that I could go back, and talk about them with my kids and live joyfully with them in mind.

I tried to tell myself it must of counted that all my prayers with my kids, thanked God that He will always love them. But these psalms showed how much he loves...

Psalms 23:6
Because the Lord is my Shepard...Surely goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalms 139
10 "Your right hand will hold me fast."

17-18 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable, I can't even count them: they out number the grains of sand! (NLT)

John 3:16, tells us of the result of the precious thoughts that God has for us.

Zephaniah 3: 15

"The Lord your God is with you
He is mighty to save
He will take great delight in you,
He will rejoice over you with singing."

Isaiah 49:16

God says, "See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.

I am thankful for these reminders and this is where "Home Sweet Home" is.

Counting my Blessings!

I know this list is very limited,
haven't learned the way to add
extra pics to a blog.

But here's a few of the ones (including Patrick)
that I love and miss.

Have a blessed week!

Love, Mom

Man of Honor

Adam Laird Langford
January 8, 1979
January 16, 2007

Recently, I spoke about my father's prayer,
He always ended it with...
"Lord, help me to do good to all men at all times"

Adam, his grandson, lived that prayer in his 28 short,
but powerful years.

We miss him so much.

Here are some pictures of his last
Christmas, spent in Mambosa, Kenya
with Lana, Emily, & Spencer

Lana & Adam, out on the beach,
for a camel ride
A Christmas meal

Adam & Spencer....he never met a stranger!
Train ride home...back to Uganda

He showed us the light & love of God!
Adam, Love you for ever and always

The Music Man

It was a short & sweet trip to see
Alex in The Music Man.
He is a dancing & singing sensation
and steals the show!

He was recruited to complete this
Guitar Hero band, by adding his
vocal talent.

Here is one of his
favorite fans!
I had a great time and look forward to
the next play, in May & June
